Tricky Transmitters
The following transmitters require special instructions.
Graupner
Graupner transmitters are supported by AeroSIM RC.
But which connector do I need: Mono or Stereo jack?
- MX series are equipped with DSC socket, which must be used directly with Mono jack
- MC series can optionally be equipped with Teacher module, which require the Stereo jack
If you are having problems with the stereo adapter, try with the mono jack.
Hitec Aurora
Hitec Aurora transmitter is supported by AeroSIM RC.
How to use it with the simulator:
- Connect the jack to the radio's training socket.
- Power ON the radio using the switch
- Press the "Multi I/O" button on the right of the screen (This only appears with the USB interface connected on power-on).
- Choose "T-Pupil" from the options
Spektrum
Spektrum transmitters are supported by AeroSIM RC, but they are a bit tricky.
Turn OFF the transmitter and then plug the jack. It should turn ON and start sending the signal to the computer. The red LED in the USB interface will light when the TX signal is received.
Follow these steps to correctly calibrate a Spektrum transmitter in Windows:
1- Select new empty memory slot, and call it SIM
2- Set all trims to neutral
3- Make sure the throttle stick is exactly at the central position before starting the calibration.
4- At the X/Y calibration step, before moving the sticks, tick the box to display the raw values and take note of the displayed value for X and Y.
5- Then move the left stick vertically (throttle when in mode 2)
6- Move the right stick horizontally (aileron) to the ends.
7- Make sure you leave the throttle stick exactly at the value you noted earlier before clicking the "Next" button.
8- For the rest of channels, find the corresponding stick/switch and move it to the ends.
9- In the simulator channel configuration screen, verify that the stick ends reach -100 to +100, and that the center stick value is 0.
Spektrum transmitters have the channels sorted differently from Futaba or Hitec. The channel configuration has to be edited to map the channels correctly. This can be done in the simulator, after calibration, from Top Menu Controller / Configuration / ConfigA
Turnigy
Turnigy 9x is supported by AeroSIM RC.
Some users have experienced problems with this transmitter when using the simulator. The problem seems to be fixed in a new revision of the firmware of the Turnigy transmitter.
The solution in case of having the old firmware in the Turnigy transmitter is to have its module unplugged when using the simulator.
