Model Editor
The behaviour of the model is the sum of the individual simulation of all of its components: Wings, Engine, Propeller, Wheels,Servos, Receiver, Transmitter, etc.
A deep knowledge of aeronautic engineering an radio control is required to understand the effect of the many parameters that define a model. As a starting point, an existing model can be modified, and then saved with a different name from
Editor Areas
In model editor mode, the screen is divided into four areas:
Graphic Editing Area |
Flight Test Area |
|
Components List Area |
Component Editing Area |
Graphic Editing Area
- Shows the position of the components, the grid scale, the mass of the model, and the coordinates of the Centre of Gravity.
- The components can be moved with the mouse. While dragging a component, press CONTROL to snap to grid, or press CAPS to move horizontally or vertically.
- Components can be selected with the mouse.
- The camera can be moved with the right mouse button and keys CAPS and CONTROL.
- The graphic representation of the model will not show the changes, but the model´s flight will.
- Buttons:
|
Show / Hide Grid |

|
Show Graphics |

|
Show / Hide Components |
|
Show mass distribution |
 |
Activate aileron and altitude Auto Pilots (this is of great help during flight tests) |
|
The arrow buttons can be used to change the point of view of the model. |
Flight Test Area
- In the FLight Test Area, the changes applied to the model can be experimented.
- All changes take immediate effect. For instance, if the battery is moved forward during the flight, the model will fly according to its new gravity centre.
Components List Area
- All Components defining the model are listed in a tree.
- Push
to activate/deactivate the forces of the component (e.g. try to deactivate the gravity)
- Push
to show / hide the component in the Graphic Editing Area.
- Push
to activate/deactivate the mass of the component.
- The buttons at the bottom bar delete and create new components.
Component Editing Area
- Shows the properties of the selected component.
- The values of the properties can be edited here.
- Push the right button of the mouse on any property to get an explanation on the meaning and purpose of the property .
